Karukaa (from the Sanskrit-Malayalam root karuku — meaning essence, depth, the tender core) represents formulations distilled to their purest therapeutic intent. No shortcuts. No synthetic fillers. Only what the skin has always recognised as its own.

Karukaa did not begin as a business plan. It began generations ago, in the quiet corridors of Sree Rudravilasam Vaidyasala, Thiruvankulam — a Kerala institution where healing has been practiced as a way of life, not an industry.

At its heart is a physician-led family legacy, carried forward by Dr. Seetha Lekshmi through Ayurvedic skincare that heals as it beautifies.

At its heart is the legacy of Panditarajan Trikkovil Rama Warrier, a name held with deep reverence in traditional Ayurvedic circles, whose life's vision was simple and profound: health and healing should serve society, not merely the market.

That vision found its modern voice in his granddaughter, Dr. Seetha Lekshmi M.D.(Ay), who chose to walk the same path — not out of obligation, but conviction. Today, as Co-Founder and Chief Physician of SRV Ayurveda, she has rekindled her grandfather's pristine vision, translating classical Ayurvedic wisdom into forms that meet the world of today, without ever compromising its authenticity.

Karukaa is the newest chapter of that legacy — an extension of the cosmetic expertise Dr. Seetha has cultivated under the house of Vedasparsham, now offered to a wider world seeking skincare that heals as it beautifies.

Dr. Seetha Lekshmi is a physician, formulator, and academician whose work bridges classical Ayurvedic science with contemporary application.

She carries forward generations of Ayurvedic medicine through physician-led skincare, formulation, and scholarship.

The granddaughter of Panditarajan Trikkovil Rama Warrier, she carries forward a family legacy of Ayurvedic medicine that stretches back generations at Sree Rudravilasam Vaidyasala. As Co-Founder and Chief Physician of SRV Ayurveda, she has been instrumental in rekindling her grandfather's original mission — extending genuine, classical Ayurvedic healing to a society increasingly disillusioned by shortcuts and synthetic promises.

Her specialisation lies in Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing, where she leads the cosmetic and skincare division under the house of Vedasparsham, developing formulations that stay true to classical Rasashastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana (Ayurvedic pharmaceutical science) while addressing the real, everyday concerns of modern skin.

Beyond the pharmacy and the clinic, Dr. Seetha also serves as the Academic Director of Sreevidya Academy for Vedic Sciences, a centre dedicated to the study and continuation of India's Vedic and classical sciences — a role that reflects her belief that true Ayurveda cannot survive without scholarship, and true scholarship must always return to serve people.

In Ayurveda, the skin — Twak — is not treated as a surface to be corrected, but as a living reflection of the body's internal balance of Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. Blemishes, dullness, uneven tone, and premature ageing are not “flaws” to be masked; they are signals of imbalance to be gently corrected, from the outside in.

Every oil (Tailam) and every herbal application (Lepam) in our range is prepared using classical methods of slow herbal infusion — where roots, barks, and botanicals are simmered patiently into a carrier base until their therapeutic properties are fully absorbed.

This is not a fast process, and we have never tried to make it one.
